Hammond Requests Assistance (12-16-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 Hammond Police Department requests assistance in the 1700 block of Brown Avenue. Officers reported Hammond Police handled. Arrest (12-15-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 Sgt Hale arrested at the Whiting Police Department Demitrice Davis of 1632 Brown Avenue on a warrant out of Whiting City Court for FTA Traffic Violations and OWI. Subject was placed in lock up pending bond or court date. Arrest for Domestic Battery (12-15-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 Sgt Greer made an arrest at East Chicago Police Department on a warrant out of Whiting City Court for Domestic Battery. He was transported to the Whiting Police Department and placed in lock up pending bond and court date. Arrest (12-14-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 Sgt Greer arrested Kurt Pacheco of 3824 Parrish Avenue, East Chicago, IN. on a warrant out of City Court for FTA. He was transported from East Chicago Police Department to the Whiting Police Department and placed in lock up. Vandalism (12-13-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 A resident in the 1700 block of Central Avenue to persons unknown who threw pumpkins through her rear windows of her residence. Officers reported that the windows and screens were damaged. Whiting City Court Probation Officer Request Officers (12-13-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 Whiting City Court Probation Officers request officers at City Court. Sgt Hale arrested Sonja Tomovic of 10614 S Ewing Avenue, Chicago, IL for Public Intoxication. Officers reported that she showed up for court intoxicated to pay probation fees. She was transported to the Whiting Police Department and placed in lock up. Hammond Police Request Assistance (12-13-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 Hammond Police request assistance at the Luke BP Station on Indianapolis Blvd. to a report that a male black subject with a gun was going to shoot the place up. Officers advised that Hammond Police was a no show and the subject involved had left before officers arrived. Little Caesars Pizza Robbed (12-11-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 All Whiting Units were detailed to the Little Caesars Pizza to reference of a robbery in progress. Sgt Don Greer assisted by Sgt Puhek arrested Dennis D Sheffield of 2050 Indianapolis Blvd., Whiting, IN for robbery. He was transported to the Whiting Police Department. During the course of the arrest and investigation the suspect admitted to robbing the pizza store three other times. Hammond Police notified and spoke with the suspect and he admitted to other robberies that had taken place in Hammond. He was placed in lock up pending transport to the Lake County Jail. 7-11 Robbery (12-11-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 Hammond Police called to advise that the 7-11 store on Calumet Avenue and 121st Street had just been robbed. Officers advised that this was done by the same subject in the past. Garage Break In (12-9-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 A resident in the 1400 block of Fischrupp Avenue reported that his garage was broken into and numerous items were taken. Officers reported that 2 power washers and an air compressor was taken. Possible Shooting (12-9-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 All units were detailed and Hammond Police was contacted to assist at the Amvets. Officers reported a possible shooting that had taken place. Officers spoke with the bartender who reported nothing had happened at the bar. Arrest (12-7-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 Sgt Greer arrested Juan A Rodriquez of 1830 Sheridan Avenue at the Whiting Police Department on a warrant out of Lake County for Residential Entry a Class D Felony. He was placed in lock up pending transport to the Lake County Jail. Vandalism (12-7-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 A resident in the 1700 block of Oliver Street reported that her house was egged and her snowman in her front yard was knocked over. Vehicle Vandalism (12-7-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 Whiting Police Officers located a vehicle in the 1700 block of 119th Street with the window broken out. Officers reported that it appeared that nothing was missing. Owner request no report on the damages. Garage Burglarized (12-6-10) Thursday, December 16, 2010 A resident in the 1200 block of Euclid Avenue reported that his garage was burglarized. Officers reported his Toro Snow-Blower was taken within the past month. He is unsure due to his garage not being locked. 7-11 Robbed (12-5-10) Tuesday, December 14, 2010 Hammond Police Department called reporting that the same subject involved in the Little Caesars robbery had just robbed the 7-11 at Calumet Avenue and 121st Street. The subject left the area in a gold colored Chevy Cavalier. Little Caesars Pizza Robbed (12-5-10) Tuesday, December 14, 2010 All units were detailed to the Little Caesars Pizza received a call from an employee that they had just been robbed. The subject is a white male heavy set, wearing a black heavy knit sweater and a matching hat. Officers checked the area with negative results. Officers spoke with the employee who reported that the suspect ordered a pizza and then requested that the money be placed in the box. After receiving the money he fled the area. Home Burglarized (12-4-10) Tuesday, December 14, 2010 A resident in the 2400 block of Schrage Avenue reported that his resident was burglarized. Officers reported that the suspect gained entry by kicking in the rear basement door. Officers reported electronic items and tools were taken. The complainant reported that he suspects an ex-friend was involved in the burglary. Vehicle Theft (12-4-10) Tuesday, December 14, 2010 A resident from Griffith, IN reported the theft of his 2002 Chevy Silverado pick up from in front of 1208 Euclid Avenue in Whiting, IN. The vehicle was entered into the computer. Home Invasion (12-4-10) Tuesday, December 14, 2010 Officers were detailed to the area of the 1500 block of 121st Street. A resident was reporting an unknown male subject was in her home that was not to be there. The subject ran out of the back door wearing a gray hoodie. Lt Abner caught the subject and transported David C Williams of 1525 Parkview to the Whiting Police Department. He was arrested for Residential Entry a Class D Felony and Public Intoxication. He was placed in lock up pending transport to the Lake County Jail. Lost Money (12-3-10) Tuesday, December 14, 2010 A resident from Hobart, IN reported to the Whiting Police to request if anyone turned in money that he had lost $1,300.00 somewhere between Centier Bank and Arnies Dog House. Vehicle Theft (12-3-10) Tuesday, December 14, 2010 A resident from Chicago, IL reported the theft of his 2003 Red Ford Taurus that was parked at the corner of 120th and Indianapolis Blvd. The vehicle was entered into the computer. Hammond PD Requests Assistance (12-2-10) Tuesday, December 14, 2010 Hammond Police Department requests assistance in the 1900 block of Wespark Avenue to a report of two suspicious subjects. Hammond Police handled. Graffiti (12-2-10) Tuesday, December 14, 2010 Graffiti was reported on the traffic control box located at New York Avenue and 119th Street. Sgt Greer will handle the clean up. Electrical Fire (12-1-10) Tuesday, December 14, 2010 Whiting Fire Department was detailed to the 1900 block of New York Avenue. The fire department extinguished an electrical fire in the bathroom. |
