Wednesday, November 18, 2009 A resident in the 1700 block of Central Avenue reported that copper gutters were stolen from her residence. Bomb Threat (11-17-09) Wednesday, November 18, 2009 Whiting Police Department were detailed to Whiting High School to a report of a called in bomb threat. East Chicago Police bomb K-9 units were called out. All students who reported for school were sent the Whiting Community Center. The entire schools were searched by officers and K-9 with negative results. Theft of Stereo (11-16-09) Wednesday, November 18, 2009 A resident in the 1500 block of Ohio reported the theft of his stereo from his vehicle. Stereo Stolen (11-16-09) Wednesday, November 18, 2009 A resident in the 2000 block of Lake Avenue reported that her stereo was stolen from her car while it was parked in the 1600 block of Ohio Avenue. Arrest (11-15-09) Wednesday, November 18, 2009 Sgt Adams and Cpl Jacko responded to a call of a subject attempting to gain entry to her apartment. Officers arrested William T Rostin of 1447 Fischrupp Avenue basement rear apartment on a warrant out of Hammond for P.C. Robbery. This subject was wanted for the robberies at the Centier Bank in Robertsdale. The subject was turned over to the Hammond Police Department who were also at the scene. Theft - GPS (11-15-09) Wednesday, November 18, 2009 A resident in the 1700 block of Sheridan Avenue reported the theft of his GPS from his vehicle that was parked in front of his residence. Theft (11-15-09) Wednesday, November 18, 2009 A resident in the 1500 block of John Street reported that her vehicle was entered and some loose change was taken from the car. Theft (11-15-09) Wednesday, November 18, 2009 A resident in the 1700 block of Sheridan Avenue reported that persons unknown entered his vehicle and stole his GPS. BP Request Officers (11-13-09) Wednesday, November 18, 2009 BP Security request officers at Barrel House parking lot to the report of a subject with a gun. Officers spoke with the male subject who had a permit to carry the weapon. Officers reported that due to the BP Policy no weapons are allowed on their property. Subject passes to the refinery were revoked and he was removed until further notice. Vasndalism and Theft (11-11-09) Tuesday, November 17, 2009 A resident in the 1600 block of Central Avenue reported that his work truck was broken into and numerous tool taken. Suspicious Activity (11-11-09) Tuesday, November 17, 2009 City Employees reported two subjects carrying a large screen TV in the area of 128th and White Oak Avenue. Officers located the two and spoke with the same. Officers located the owner of the TV and advised that he had thrown the TV out for who ever wanted it. Possession of Heroin (11-11-09) Tuesday, November 17, 2009 Undercover officers doing a drug investigation at a residence in the 1400 block of Ohio arrested Robert Igras of 1805 LaPorte Avenue at Calumet Avenue and Indianapolis Blvd. for Possession of Heroin. Officers confiscated 5 packets of heroin. He was transported to the Lake County Jail and charged with two Class B Felonies. Stolen Car Recovered (11-11-09) Tuesday, November 17, 2009 Hammond Police reported that they found a piece of paper in the stolen car they had recovered with a Whiting address in it. Officers checked the area and found a vehicle broken into and a GPS taken. Vandalism (11-11-09) Tuesday, November 17, 2009 Officers came across a vehicle with the windows broken out and the stereo missing in the 1400 block of Fischrupp Avenue. Officers report that the stereo is in possession of the Hammond Police Department from the assist in Hammond. Hammond PD requests Assistance (11-11-09) Monday, November 16, 2009 Hammond Police Department requests assistance in the area of 114th and Stanton. Officers report looking for 5 black males breaking into cars in the area. Officers report that Hammond Police Department has their car in their possession that was reported stolen. Officers report that the car had numerous stolen stereos in it. Officers report catching one of the subjects and turning him over to Hammond. Garage Break In (11-10-09) Monday, November 16, 2009 A resident in the 1400 block of Fischrupp Avenue reported that his garage was broken into. Officers report that numerous items were taken. Vandalism (11-09-09) Monday, November 16, 2009 A resident in the 2200 block of Indianapolis Blvd. reported that persons unknown attempted to steal her car. Officers reported that the steering column was damaged and the trunk was open but nothing was missing. Vehicle Break In (11-09-09) Monday, November 16, 2009 A resident in the 1200 block of 120th Street reports that her neighbor witnessed a vehicle being broken into. Officers reported speakers were stolen out of a 97 Ford. Possession of a Knife (11-8-09) Monday, November 16, 2009 Ofc. Gajewski arrested Daniel C Brown of 1644 Lake Avenue, Whiting, IN for Possession of a Knife with an automatic opening blade at 119th and New York Ave. He was transported to the Whiting Police Department pending bond. Also at the scene was Christopher Trevino of 1347 - 121st Street, Whiting, IN who was arrested on a warrant out of Hammond. He also was transported to the Whiting Police Department pending transport to Hammond Police Department. Arrest-Probation Revoked (11-7-09) Monday, November 16, 2009 Ofc. Gajewski arrested Antonio C Doyle of 1457 Ohio Ave in the rear of his residence for operating a motor vehicle with expired plates. He was also arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia a Felony. He was transported to the Whiting Police Department pending transport to the Lake County Jail. Due to Mr. Doyle being on probation from previous drug charges, his probation officer was notified and his probation revoked. The vehicle that he was driving was towed to Air One Towing. Theft (11-7-09) Monday, November 16, 2009 A resident in the 1900 block of Front Street came into the station to report that a male subject approx 6 ft tall wearing a mask entered his home with a gun and took $80 U.S.C. and his credit cards. Theft (11-5-09) Monday, November 16, 2009 A resident in the 1700 block of Central Avenue reported that persons unknown stole the copper gutter from the rear of his home. Vehicle Break In (11-5-09) Monday, November 16, 2009 A resident in the 1500 block of Steiber Street reported that his vehicle was broken into. He reported that a GPS System was taken. Break In/Theft (11-05-09) Monday, November 16, 2009 A resident in the 1200 block of 120th reports that his vehicle was broken into. Officers reported that an IPOD was taken from the vehicle. Nuisance Property Violation (11-4-09) Monday, November 16, 2009 Hugo Torres of 2117 White Oak Avenue was issued a summons to court for Nuisance Property Violation for property that he own at 2116 Schrage Avenue. Whiting Police Department received numerous complainants within a 90 day period. |
