Friday, October 23, 2009 A resident from Merrillville, IN reported that her vehicle was broken into while parked in the Family Dollar parking lot. Officers reported that a purse was taken containing miscellaneous ID's and $60 usc. Felony Warrant (10-22-09) Friday, October 23, 2009 Lt. Abner arrested Robert Gonzales of 406 Vernon Street, East Chicago, IN on a felony warrant out of Lake County for Non Support of a Dependent Child. He was transported to the Whiting Police Department pending transport to the Lake County Jail. Possible Break In (10-21-09) Friday, October 23, 2009 All Officers were detailed to the 1200 block of W. Fred Street to a report of a Hispanic male, bald, wearing a purple shirt trying to break into a house. The complainant reported that the subject appears to be intoxicated. Officers arrested Francisco Seranno of 1930 Atchison Avenue for Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Public Intoxication. He was transported to the Whiting Police Department pending bond. Vandalism (10-20-09) Friday, October 23, 2009 A resident in the 2700 block of Schrage Avenue reported that a female walking down the alley is throwing garbage from a block bag all over the alley. Officers located Debra Spears from 2427 Schrage Avenue and she was made to clean up the mess that she made. Juvenile Arrested (10-20-09) Friday, October 23, 2009 Officers arrested a juvenile in the area of White Castle for Possession of Marijuana. The juvenile was released to his parents. Court date pending. Vehicle Break In (10-19-09) Friday, October 23, 2009 A resident in the 1200 block of W. Fred Street reported that a vehicle was broken into. Officers reported a black Ford was broken into and a floral pattern purse stolen with $700 and credit cards were taken. HPD request Assistance (10-17-09) Friday, October 23, 2009 Hammond Police Department request assistance at Jen's Apartment to a report of a gang member with a gun. Officers report no weapon involved and Hammond Police shut the bar down. Fight in Progress (10-17-09) Friday, October 23, 2009 Owner of Sport's Bar request officers due to a fight in progress. Officers reported that the subject left upon arrival. HPD request Assistance (10-17-09) Friday, October 23, 2009 Hammond Police Department request assistance at Purple Steer to a report of a fight in progress. Officers reported the subject involved left before officers arrived. |
