Friday, July 20, 2007 On July 17, 2007, Detectives and Officers from the Police Department worked undercover to make drug arrests. Officers arrested Stanley L. Cruise, age 19, of 9002 S. Mackinaw, Chicago, IL for dealing in cocaine, a Class A Felony and Possession of Marijuana, also arrested was Terrell Turner, age 24, of 8710 Burley, Chicago, IL for dealing in cocaine a Class A Felony. Both were transported to the Whiting Police Department for booking and pending transport to Lake County Jail. Massage Parlor Closed Down Friday, July 20, 2007 On July 16, 2007, Detectives from the Whiting Police Department assisted with undercover detectives from the Gary Police Department to close down a massage parlor operating in the 1900 block if Indianapolis Blvd. Officers received complaints of an unusual amount of male traffic in and out of the building all hours of the day. Undercover officers from Gary Police Department made appointments with the massage parlor personnel to gain entry to the building. Undercover officers confirmed that massages are taking place there and you could receive one from partially and nude women. The parlor was operated under the name of Velvet Rose and appointments could be made off the internet or phone under the name of velvetrosechicago.com Drug Dealing Friday, July 20, 2007 On July 11, 2007 Whiting Police Officers doing an undercover investigation arrested a Whiting man on charges of PC Dealing in a Schedule IV Controlled substance a Class B Felony, PC Maintaining a Common Nuisance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Richard Murzyan, age 45, from the 1800 Block of Cleveland Avenue, Whiting, was booked in at Whiting Police Department awaiting transport to the Lake County Jail. Garage Break In Friday, July 20, 2007 On July 7, 2007, Detectives investigated a garage break in, in the 2800 block of Schrage Avenue. Officers reported that a person's unknown used a screwdriver to gain entry to the garage. An air compressor and yard tools were taken. |
