Juvenile Arrests

On Monday, January 21st at 8:35 p.m., Officers responded to a report of a group of youths looking into garages on the 1500 block of Atchison. Officers reported that garages in Whiting and Hammond were spray painted with the letters VGV.

Officers arrested the juveniles at 116th and Atchison for Juvenile Delinquent Criminal Mischief. They were transported to Whiting PD and released to their parents. Charges will be filed in Juvenile Court.

On Saturday, Jan 19th at 5:40 p.m., Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1500 block of Steiber Street. Officers reported finding six spent shell casings, checked the area and discovered no damage to property. Officers spoke with a resident who reported that the shots were fired from a vehicle but could not provide a description of it.

Detective Bureau to investigate the matter further.
