Monday, February 25, 2008 On Sunday at 4:52 a.m., all units were detailed to the 1500 block of John Street. Officers reported that a female leaving for work opened her door and saw a black male (wearing a dark gray hoodie) take off running northbound on New York Avenue. Victims reported that this subject was attempting to enter her apartment. Officers searched the area with negative results. Incident on New York Monday, February 25, 2008 On Saturday at 10 p.m., three Hispanic males jumped a young man in the vicinity of Calumet College of St. Joseph (2400 New York). Victim was transported to the hospital. Hammond police were contacted and are handling case. Incident at Football Field Monday, February 25, 2008 On Saturday, Feb 23rd, at 7:43 p.m., a resident reported that she had been walking the track at Whiting Football Field when she was knocked to the ground by 3 Hispanic males. One of the subjects took her phone and Ipod. The subjects were all approximately 16 years of age. One was wearing a beige coat and beige bandana around his face and stood about 5'4" tall. The second subject wore a black hoodie and a black bandana on his face and was about 5'3" with bushy eyebrows. The third subject wore a red shirt, was approximately 5'5" and had a slight moustache. Subjects fled in the general direction of homes on Center Street. Plaque Taken Monday, February 25, 2008 On Friday, Feb 22nd, City Hall employees that an unknown person had stolen a bronze plaque from Carl Binhammer Commons. Detectives have been assigned to look into the theft. |
