Wednesday, December 30, 2009 Officers were detailed to the area of the 2000 block of Indianapolis Blvd. to a report of gun shots. Officers checked the area with negative results and also spoke with Hammond Police Officers that were in the area and they reported that they didn't hear anything. Officers Requested at City Court (12-28-08) Wednesday, December 30, 2009 Officers were requested at Whiting City Court. Officers arrested Demetrice L Davis of 2035 Davidson Place, Whiting, IN at City Court for Public Intoxication. He was transported to the Whiting Police Department pending bond and sobriety. Auto Theft (12-28-09) Wednesday, December 30, 2009 The owner of Bizik Glass Block reported that persons unknown cut the lock off the south gate and stole one of his trucks. Theft (12-22-09) Wednesday, December 30, 2009 Whiting Officers were detailed to Air One Wireless to a report of a theft that had taken place. Officers report that a large black male with dark clothing robbed the owner at the business. Officers request Hammond PD at the scene and officers checked the area with negative results in finding the subject. Hammond PD handled. Burglary (12-21-09) Wednesday, December 30, 2009 Officers were detailed to the 1400 block of Fischrupp Ave. to a report of a burglary at his residence. Officers spoke with the complainant who found his front door kicked in. The complainant believes that it is his neighbors that live in the rear due to altercations between them. Theft (12-20-09) Wednesday, December 30, 2009 Our Lady of Rosary Shrine Church reports copper gutters stolen from the church. It happened between 12-17-09 and 12-20-09. Theft (12-20-09) Wednesday, December 30, 2009 A resident in the 1700 block of Oliver reports that persons unknown stole two lawn chairs off her porch. She also reported that the chairs had Christmas decorations on them. Vandalism (12-19-09) Wednesday, December 30, 2009 Officers reports locating numerous vehicles in the 1700 block of Cleveland Avenue that had been egged. Graffiti (12-17-09) Wednesday, December 30, 2009 A Park employee reports graffiti on the bench by the fish pond and flag pole. Attempted Theft (12-16-09) Wednesday, December 30, 2009 A resident in the 1300 block of 119th Street reported that persons attempted to try and steal the copper gutters from her mother's home. Theft (12-14-09) Wednesday, December 30, 2009 Fr. Dominic from Sacred Heart Church reported that persons unknown stole the collection basket from the rear of the rectory of the church. He reported that it was taken sometime between the hours of 12 and 4 pm on Sunday. Graffiti (12-13-09) Wednesday, December 30, 2009 Officers reported numerous residences in the area with graffiti painted on their garages. Whiting Park was also hit. Graffiti (12-12-09) Wednesday, December 30, 2009 A resident in the 1800 block of LaPorte reports graffiti painted on their garage doors. Graffiti (12-12-09) Wednesday, December 30, 2009 WPD received reports of graffiti on the pillars and along the parkway in Whiting Park. |
