Tuesday, February 1, 2011 Hammond PD request assistance in the 1500 block of Myrtle Avenue. Hammond PD handled. Restaurant Fire (1-29-11) Tuesday, February 1, 2011 Whiting Police and Fire Departments were detailed to the 1300 block of 119th Street to a report of smoke coming out of a restaurant. Fire units advised that the fire was contained to a dryer. Possible Gun Shots (1-29-11) Tuesday, February 1, 2011 Whiting Police was detailed to the area of 117th and Cleveland Avenue and LaPorte Avenue to a report of possible gun shots and a subject running. Officers checked the area with negative results. Hammond PD Request Assistance (1-29-11) Tuesday, February 1, 2011 Hammond PD request assistance in the 2700 block of White Oak Avenue. Hammond PD handled. Vehicle Theft (1-26-11) Tuesday, February 1, 2011 A resident in the 1500 block of Steiber Street reported the theft of her vehicle during the evening hours. Extra Patrols Requested (1-25-11) Tuesday, February 1, 2011 A resident in the 2200 block of Schrage Avenue requested extra patrols in the area of his residence due to his vehicle being vandalized two times. The complainant reported that a neighbor told him that he seen a male subject around his car between midnight and two but did not call the police. 1-25-11 Tuesday, February 1, 2011 WPD was detailed to the area of the 2400 block of White Oak Avenue to a report of a B/M and a W/M with forms going door to door asking people if they have the right information on them. Officers spoke with both subjects who were working for Just Energy service out of South Bend, IN. Officers spoke with the supervisor of the company and advised them to contact the Police and City Hall the next time they were in the city. |
