Tuesday, August 2, 2011 Lt. Tobias arrested Gary Skvorak of 1812 LaPorte Avenue on a warrant out of Lake County Small Claims Court. He was transported to the Whiting PD pending transport to the Lake County Jail. Attempted Air Condition Unit Theft (7-23-11) Tuesday, August 2, 2011 A resident in the 2800 block of Schrage Avenue reported that persons unknown attempted to steal her central air conditioner unit from the rear of her home. Officers reported that she heard something around midnight and yelled outside scaring the suspect away. Arrest Harassment (7-22-11) Tuesday, August 2, 2011 Detective Sgt. Stelow arrested Arthur Steven Doll of 1034 Reese Avenue, Whiting, IN on a Warrant out of Whiting City Court for Harassment. He was transported to the Whiting PD pending bond. Gas Line Break (7-22-11) Tuesday, August 2, 2011 Whiting PD & Fire unite were detailed to the construction site in the 1900 block of Front Street to a report of a gas line break. Officers and fire personal evacuated the home in the 1900 block of Front Street and approx. 6 homes on Standard Avenue. Nipsco arrived at the scene to handle the leak. At 1500 hours all residents were allowed to return to their homes. Hammond Requests Assistance (7-21-11) Tuesday, August 2, 2011 Hammond PD request assistance in the 1000 block of Indianapolis Blvd. Officers reported that Hammond PD handled. Garage Break In (7-21-11) Tuesday, August 2, 2011 A resident in the 1900 block of Schrage Avenue reported that his garage was burglarized. Officers reported that the service door was pried open and numerous lawn tools were taken. Garage Break-In (7-20-11) Tuesday, August 2, 2011 A resident in the 1500 block of Steiber Street reported that persons unknown broke into his garage. Officers reported that the service door was pried open to gain access. A lawn mower, snow blower, leaf blower was taken. Theft (7-20-11) Tuesday, August 2, 2011 A resident in the 2800 block of White Oak Avenue reported that persons unkown stole her patio umbrella from off her front porch. |
