Detective Lt. Sam Abner filed charges in Lake County on suspected shooter Kevin Green.

On Sept. 4 2007 at 4.50 P.M. Detectives from the Whiting Police Department arrested shooter Kevin Green (age 25) of 1034 Reese Ave., Hammond, at his place of employment. He was transported to Whiting PD where he was charged with one count of Battery with a weapon (Class C Felony) and Attempted Murder (Class A Felony). He is waiting to be transported to the Lake County Jail.

Resident from the Twelve Hundred block of Euclid Avenue reports possible scam

A resident reported that she received a call from a male subject claiming that he was from United Services and that she had won a $1,000 shopping spree. The male caller requested all her personal and bank information.

Please notify the Whiting Police Department at 659-2131 if you have received any type of these calls.
