Wednesday, June 6, 2007 Detective are investigating a burglary that took place at Lykos European Store located at 1419 - 119th Street, Whiting. The suspect entered the store after closing hours and stole an USC, cigarette lighters and a stainless steel grill. Officers working the 10 PM to 6 AM shift chased the suspect and recovered the grill. Felony Theft Wednesday, June 6, 2007 Detectives charged Stacy White, 32, Whiting with Class D Felony Theft. She asked Pastor William Hall and his wife Judy if her son could use the washroom at their residence. When they were allowed to use the facilities, she went through the drawers at the residence taking items consisting of a gold watch, two gold rings with diamonds, and tow gold bracelets. Ms. White was transported to Lake County Jail pending bond. Felony Battery Wednesday, June 6, 2007 Detectives charged a Whiting man with two counts of felony battery. Xavier Sauceda, age 41 of 2524 Schrage Avenue, Whiting was charged in Lake County Courts with one count of battery with a weapon, a Class C Felony and one count of aggravated battery, a Class B Felony. Mr. Sauceda hit Antonio Ayon of 2516 Schrage, Whiting, in the face with a pipe fracturing his orbital socket and sinus area. |
