Wednesday, August 12, 2009 A resident from the 2100 block of Superior reported that her vehicle was broken into while at Whiting Park. Officers reported the rear window broken out and her daughter's purse stolen. Vehicle Break In/Theft (8-11-09) Wednesday, August 12, 2009 A resident in the 2100 block of Schrage Avenue reported that her vehicle was broken into while at Whihala Beach. Officers reported the theft of her purse containing USC and misc. ID's. Mischief (8-11-09) Wednesday, August 12, 2009 A resident in the 1400 block of 121st Street reports mischief done to his vehicle. Officers reported that his ex girlfriend stuffed a snickers bar into his gas tank. Break In & Vandalism (8-10-09) Tuesday, August 11, 2009 A resident in the 1600 block of Central Avenue reported that her garage was entered and persons unknown broke out the rear window of her Jeep and her Chevy Van was egged. Vandalism (8-10-09) Tuesday, August 11, 2009 Hammond Police requested officers to Atchison Avenue Park at Atchison and Ohio Avenue. Officers reported that several juveniles were brought in after they were marking on the picnic tables with markers. Vandalism (8-9-09) Tuesday, August 11, 2009 A resident in the 2000 block of New York Avenue reported that her vehicle had bricks thrown at it damaging it. Complainant reported that her ex boyfriend is involved in the damage. Vehicle Break In/Theft (8-6-09) Tuesday, August 11, 2009 A resident from Hammond reported that her vehicle was broken into while parked in Whiting Park. She reported that her purse along with her paycheck was stolen. Arrest for Possession (8-6-09) Tuesday, August 11, 2009 Sgt. Greer arrested Michael Britton of 2446 White Oak Avenue, Whiting, IN for Possession of a Narcotic (Heroin) and on a warrant out of Lake County for Possession of a Narcotic (Heroin). He was transported to the Whiting Police Department and then transported to the Lake County Jail. Theft (8-6-09) Tuesday, August 11, 2009 A resident in the 1500 block of Ohio Avenue reported her vehicle was broken into and her purse was stolen along with her driver's license and credit cards. Theft (8-5-09) Tuesday, August 11, 2009 A Contractor working at Schrage and 121st Street reported the theft of the lights from the rear of the loader parked there. Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct (8-5-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 Sgt Butler arrested Chad Justak of 7938 Northcote, Hammond, IN for Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct after a witness observed him break out a window of 1863 Indianapolis Blvd. 8-4-09 Monday, August 10, 2009 A resident in the 2000 block of Schrage Avenue reported that the copper gutters are laying behind the grotto of I.C. Church. Officers request a key holder be contacted to secure the gutter before it's stolen. Public Intoxication (8-3-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 Officers arrested Thomas Honeycutt Jr. from 2103 Schrage Avenue, Whiting, IN for Public Intoxication while at City Court. He was transported to the Whiting Police Department pending bond and sobriety. Theft (8-1-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 A resident in the 2000 block of Schrage reported that persons unknown stole her Cubs Flag. Shoplifting (8-1-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 A manager from Walgreens reported that he was in foot pursuit of a shoplifter and had caught same. Officers arrested Thomas Woods from 240 Roosevelt, Gary, IN for Conversion, Resisting Law Enforcement, and a warrant out of the Indiana Department of Corrections for a Parole Violation. He was transported to the Whiting Police Department pending transport to the Lake County Jail. Damage and Theft (8-1-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 A resident of Davis Avenue reported that persons unknown has damaged and stolen the copper gutter from off I.C. Church. Graffiti (8-1-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 A resident in the 1400 block of 119th Street reports that graffiti on his garage door in green paint. Break In and Theft (8-1-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 An employee from Whihala Beach reported that their shanty was broken into. Officers reported the south side window was broken out and a ticket machine and envelope with keys were taken. Theft (7-30-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 A resident from Hammond, IN reported that her motor scooter was stolen from the rear of Little Caesars Pizza. Vandalism (7-27-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 A resident from Lansing, IL reported that his vehicle was broken into while at Whihala Beach. Theft at Pierogi Fest (7-25-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 A vendor from Pierogi Fest reported some misc jewelry taken from her tent after it had blown over during the night. Theft at Pierogi Fest (7-25-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 A vendor fro Pierogi Fest reported the theft of cases of pop and some misc USC taken from his freezer. Arrest (7-25-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 Capt John Sotello and Lt. Sam Abner arrested Richard Garcia of 1523 Myrtle Avenue, Whiting, IN and Michael Esquivel of 2733 N Austin, Chicago, IL. Both were arrested at 115th and Atchison Avenue for Public Intoxication and Conversion after they stole a golf cart from 119th Street that was being used for Pierogi Fest. Both were transported to the Whiting Police Department pending bond. Vandalism (7-24-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 A resident in the 1700 block of Cleveland Avenue reported that her vehicle was ransacked by persons unknown during the evening hours. Arrest (7-24-09) Monday, August 10, 2009 Sgt Butler arrested Ethan Jozwiak of 1510 Myrtle Avenue, Whiting, IN for P.C. Possession of Stolen Vehicle and Public Intoxication. The subject was arrested after he left the scene of a reported accident, grabbed a subject's bike and fled the area. He was arrested on New York Avenue and transported to the Whiting Police Department. |
