Animal Control

The Animal Control Department addresses compliance with the city ordinances pertaining to animal licensing enforcement. In addition, the Animal Control Department has authority to impound animals which are wild or domesticated for violations of city ordinances. Based on circumstances, the animal control department encourages adoption of impounded stray animals, as a means of matching a good home to these often neglected animals.

The acting Animal Control Officer, Marty Jakubowski, can be reached through the police department or by calling the Community Center at 659 0860. The city kennel is located at the city garage at 1915 Front Street. Visits to the kennel are by appointment.

If you have an animal problem please contact the Police department. If you wish to adopt an animal, contact Marty Jakubowski. The Animal Control Department accepts any generous donations of pet foods, cat litter, or animal hygiene products.
