Chris is currently serving his fourth term as
Councilman in the city of Whiting. He is
President of the Council and serves on various
Council sub-committees. Chris is President of the Economic Development
Commission, and he also serves on the Board of
Directors of the Community Improvement
Corporation (CIC), and is a member of the
Community Improvement Fund (CIF). He is also a
member of the Roosevelt Club and the
Whiting/Robertsdale Historical Society.
Chris and his wife Carolyn are lifelong residents of Whiting. He is a graduate of Whiting High School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University, Lafayette. Chris
works for ArcelorMittal Burns Harbor as a
Health and Safety Professional.

Steve serves as Chairman of the Finance
Committee along with serving as the President of the
Whiting Plan Commission and
Democratic Committeeman of the City's 1st
Precinct.
Steve is a parishioner at Immaculate
Conception Church along with being a member of the Knight of Columbus, Sons of the American Legion, the American Slovak Club and the Roosevelt Club.

Rebeca was elected to filled the unexpired term of former Councilman Rudy Wunder
in 2003 and was then elected in 2003
for her first elected term. She is
currently serving her second full term.
Rebeca attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Grade School and graduated from Whiting High School in 1987. She grew up in the 9th Precinct on the 1700 block of 119th Street.
Rebeca owns and operates Rebeca's Hair & Tanning Salon
and is also a member of the
Whiting-Robertsdale Chamber of
Commerce where she serves on the
Board of Directors.

Ken lives with his wife Rita on Sheridan Avenue. They have two children, Lisa
and Tim. Ken is a member of Sacred Heart Parish and is Sr. V.P. and Chief Investment Officer at North Star Trust Co., Chicago. Ken is a product of the Whiting Public School System with degrees from St. Joseph's College and De Paul University.
Ken enjoys his membership in the Knights of Columbus, American Slovak Club, Roosevelt Club and Elks Club. Experienced as a past School City Trustee and past Vice President of the Whiting Redevelopment Commission, Ken's community focus is toward maintaining and improving the Whiting residencies, providing an environment that will attract families that value education, civic pride and good citizenry.

Bruce Stolman

Bruce has resided in the 3rd District for over 30 years. He and Nancy (Mohr) have two children, a son, Cole and a daughter, Kelly. Bruce and his family are members of St. John the Baptist Parish. Local organizations in which Bruce is a member include: The Whiting Elks, Knights of Columbus, Slovak Club, Roosevelt Club and Friends of the Whiting Public Library.
Bruce graduated from Whiting High School and
holds a Bachelors of Science in Management from
Purdue University Calumet. He has over 30 years experience as a City of Whiting employee, serving the Whiting Fire Department and as Park Superintendent. He served for a decade as an officer in Whiting Little League, and is especially pleased at how the Softball and Tee-Ball programs have thrived.
Bruce is in his first term as councilman, serving on the Inter-Governmental Cooperation, Industrial Relations, and Parks and Recreation Committees.

Larry has been involved in City Government
for many years, serving five years as a Precinct
Committeeman and currently is serving in his
third term as Councilman. He also serves on the Park Board, Streets and Alleys, the Personnel Committee and is the Council Representative to the Whiting-Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce. Larry previously served on the Whiting Fire Department Merit Board. He has been involved in youth programs as a coach for many years and was co-founder of the Whiting Alumni Association raising thousands of dollars for student scholarships. Larry
and wife Diane have three sons, Brian, Brad and Brett. Larry is a graduate of Whiting High School as is Diane and their three sons. He retired in 1999 after 38 years of service at Ispat Inland Steel.

Millie has been on the city
council since 1986 and also served as a Precinct Committeeman for 16 years. She is also presently on the following committees: Board of Zoning Appeals, Finance, Ordinance, Park and Recreation, Streets and Alleys, and Health, Safety and Morals.
Millie is a life-long resident of Whiting and is a graduate of Whiting High School. She is married to John Greer. She and John have three children and three grandchildren. For 15 years Millie was the Special Education bus driver for Whiting School. |
