Garage Mahal
What would May be in Whiting without our famous Garage Mahal? Garage Mahal is the city's neighborhood garage sale. Residents register to have their sales all on the same day (usually the 3rd Saturday in May). Visitors can pick up maps with the addresses and the main items that will be sold at each garage sale on their way into town!
Last year there were 160 individual garage sales in the city and hundreds and hundreds of visitors roaming through the trash and treasures. This is one of Whiting's favorite events for both sellers, browsers and buyers.
