Wednesday, January 19, 2011 St. John the Baptist cordially invites you to join them at their winter festival "Back to the Future: Celebrating 110th Anniversary of the School". This festival offers something for everyone! Enjoy a wide variety of delicious food, a huge game room for the children, a beer garden, karaoke, dj, live music, baked goods, a student talent show, raffles, silent auction and much more! Be sure to enter their raffle for the chance to be a $5,000 grand prize winner! Friday, February 18th: 6pm - 10pm - the band Lake Effect Kids will be performing from 7pm - 8 pm. Saturday, February 19th: 2PM - 5PM SENIOR'S ONLY featuring a wonderful Slovak Dinner and live music by the Merry Notes. From 4PM-5:30PM students of St. John the Baptist will be showcasing their talents at the Talent Show. From 5:30pm to 10pm, open to the general public. Sunday, February 20th: 11am to 9pm - come and enjoy the famous Panel Room Chicken Dinner - there will be 2 seating's - one at 11am and the second at 1:30 pm. Dinner tickets will be on sale for $10 each at St. John School and Rectory during regular business hours. The band ARORA will be performing from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. The wonderful alumni of their school will also be a focus of the festival, so if you were a student at St. John the Baptist, please come and celebrate their anniversary! Mayor Stahura Holds Public Forum Monday, January 3, 2011 Mayor Stahura will host a Public Forum on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 6:00 pm in the Whiting Community Center Social Room. Mayor Joe will provide an update on many of the City projects that are currently underway and also provide a glimpse of the future activity scheduled for the coming months. The Forum is part of the Mayor's commitment to maintain a clear line of communication with the residents and to allow for public input. As always, the Mayor will allow ample time for questions and answers from the audience. Hope to see you there! |
