Whiting had victories at all three singles spots and another at No.1 doubles. Arthur Young, Whiting's Tennis Coach, was very pleased with the progress the girls have made thus far, but said they still have a long way to go. He is very proud of his team. Their record for the season to date is 13-4. The losses came early in the season and they finished winning 12 straight matches. The highlight of the season would have to be sectionals. Whiting's lone senior, Allison Miller, finally got victories over Hammond High and Clark in the No.1 singles spot. Allison always battled with them but always fell short. However, Allison found a way to win against both during sectionals. Arthur Young hopes the success the girls had this year will cause them to pick up their racquets this summer and play a little more tennis.
