Whiting-Robertsdale Historical Society
The Whiting-Robertsdale Historical Society was organized in 1976 as a U.S. Bicentennial project. The building housing the Society is located at 1610 – 119th Street. This site serves as a workplace for the volunteers who continually update the donated items that are given to the Society.
The Society does a great deal of reference work, collecting, cataloging and preserving materials of local historical importance. Reminiscences from local residents are collected on tape and in letter form. The Historical Society is often helpful with genealogy studies as well. The Society is always looking for “new” old photographs, newspapers articles, documents and family histories.
The Historical Society building is opened on Tuesdays from 11am to 2pm to scan your photos or receive your donations. The Historical Society meets on the fourth Thursday of the month from September to April at 12 noon at the Mascot Hall of Fame building located at 1851 Front Street in Whiting. All are welcome to attend.
