Whiting PD was detailed to Family Dollar in reference to a black male subject inside the store shoplifting.  An employee advised that the subject had left the store and she activated the store alarm.  The employee advised that this subject is in the store often and she believes that he steals soap.  Officers located the subject behind the store.  Sgt. Sopo arrested Renardo H Bryant of 541 School Street, East Chicago, IN for Conversion.  The subject was transported to the Whiting PD was booked and placed in lock up pending bond or transport to the Lake County Jail.  Items stolen were returned to Family Dollar.
