Hammond PD Requests Assistance (10-29-14)

Hammond PD requests assistance at the Horizon Bank at 1349 Calumet Avenue in reference to a subject attempting to cash a stolen check.  Sgt. Butler reported that Hammond Police took the subject into custody.  At 1437 hrs. Detective Murks from Hammond PD requested officers to speak with a subject in the 1600 block of LaPorte Avenue about this subject stealing his checks.  Officers reported that the resident was not at home at that time.
