Programs and Services Offered by the WPD

  • Crime Watch – Representatives of both Whiting and Hammond PDs hold a neighborhood Crime Watch meeting on the 2nd Thursday of the month at Calumet College of St. Joseph, 2400 New York Avenue. The meetings begin at 6:30 p.m.

  • Gun Permits – Only on Wednesday between the hours of 9 and 11 – Call First. Before making an appointment please fill out the online application with the State Police at www.in.gov/isp. Go to “Firearms Licensing” and fill out the application before making an appointment at the Whiting Police Station.

  • $1.00 – Photocopies
  • $20.00 – Administrative Towing Fee
