Mischief (3-16-13)

Whiting PD was detailed to the area of the Whiting Post Office from a report from Skeeters Diner reporting two juveniles with black hoodies running up and down the Post Office stairs and running around Very Fine Wash throwing sticks in the street.

Vandalism (3-16-13)

A resident in the 1300 block of 121st Street reported that persons unknown broke out the window to her apartment.

Bike Theft (3-16-13)

A resident in the 1800 block of Central Avenue reported that while in White Castle a m/b stole his son's Epic Specialized bike.

Vehicle Vandalism (3-13-13)

A resident in the 2000 block of Indianapolis Blvd. reported damage to her car.

Suspicious Person (3-13-13)

Whiting PD was detailed to Rebeca's 1544 - 119th Street in reference to a Male/Black who came into the shop agitated and followed a customer out and was talking to her.

Hammond PD Requests Assistance (3-13-13)

Hammond PD requests assistance in the 1400 block of Warwick Avenue in reference to shots being fired.

Arrest – Driving while Suspended (3-12-13)

Sgt Allard arrested Christopher J Grigoriadis of 1644 LaPorte Avenue, Whiting, IN on a Warrant out of Lake County for FTA/Driving while Suspended.

Theft (3-11-13)

The owner of Beggars Pizza reported the theft of money and a pager by a dismissed employee.

Arrest – OWI, Driving Left of Center (3-10-13)

Whiting PD and Whiting FD unite were detailed to 1848 Indianapolis Blvd. in reference to a vehicle that ran into a building.

Arrest – Criminal Mischief /Public Intoxication(3-9-13)

Ofc Trinidad arrested Edward a Cervantes of 1447 - 121st Street, Whiting, IN for Criminal Mischief and Public Intoxication.

Counterfeit Money (3-8-13)

Whiting PD was detailed to Family Dollar in reference to a thin blonde female in the store with counterfeit money.

Vehicle Vandalism (3-8-13)

Lt Puhek spoke with a complainant in the 2000 block of New York Avenue who reported that persons unknown egged his 2000 Chevy Astro Van that was parked in front of his residence.

Hammond PD Requests Assistance (3-4-13)

Hammond Police requests assistance in the area of 114th Street and Calumet Avenue in reference to a suspicious vehicle.

Theft (3-4-13)

An employee from the Community Center requested officers in reference to a theft.

Neighbors Dispute (3-3-13)

Officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of New York Avenue in reference to a dispute between neighbors.

Arrest – Public Intoxication (3-2-13)

Lt. Tobias arrested Timothy M Tully of 648 Union E, Bridgewater, MA on a Warrant out of Whiting City Court for FTA/Public Intoxication.

Cpl Gajeswki arrested Christopher C Gonzales of 4831 S Oak Street, Hammond, IN for Exceeding the Urban Speed Limit and Possession of a Handgun with No Permit.

Arrest – Possession of Marijuana (2-27-13)

Sgt Butler and Ofc Trinidad arrested David H Jonson of 1138 Mulberry St., Hammond, IN, in the 1400 block of 119th Street for Possession of Marijuana.

Attempted Break In (2-26-13)

A resident in the 1700 block of 119th Street reported that persons unknown attempted to gain entry to her home.

Located Purse (2-24-13)

A resident from Hammond reported that her purse had been located that was reported missing from the Whiting Baptist Church.

Purse Stolen (2-24-13)

A resident from Hammond reported that while she was at the Whiting Baptist Church assisting in passing out clothes to the needy, persons unknown had walked out with her purse.

Phone Stolen (2-24-13)

A resident in the 2600 block of White Oak Avenue reported to the Whiting PD that her daughter had gone to a party in the 1700 block of Central Avenue where the complainant reported that her daughters Apple I phone 4s was taken.

Fight (2-24-13)

All units were detailed to Game Time in reference to a large fight inside the bar.

Arrest ( 2-23-13)

Sgt Hale arrested in the 2600 block of Indianapolis Blvd. Rafael Q. Ortiz of 524 W 143rd Street, East Chicago, IN for speeding 54 MPH in a 30 MPH Zone.

Theft (2-23-13)

A resident from Chicago, IL reported that her son was playing basketball at the Community Center and had his cell phone and approx. $15 dollars in his pants pocket stolen.
