The City of Whiting along with the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Commission is having an Angel Tree for Christmas. The Angel Tree will be up in the lobby of City Hall starting on Monday, November 23rd. Individuals and businesses who wish to participate may take as many Angels from the tree as desired. Please make sure you register the Angel on the list located next to the tree so we know who has taken an Angel. The Angels will contain information to enable the donor to select an appropriate gift(s) for the needy child. If you are able to afford a $15 gift, PLEASE make you way to City Hall and take an angel from the tree. The gift(s) and the attached angel should be returned unwrapped to Mark Harbin in City Hall no later than Friday, December 11th. The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Commission will wrap the gifts and distribution will be handled by the City and volunteers. Only the children of regular food pantry patrons are eligible to receive gifts.
