Commemorative Benches Sold Out

THE BENCHES HAVE ALL BEEN SOLD OUT!  THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION.

The newly constructed Whiting Lakefront Promenade is lined with 42 benches to sit and enjoy the lakefront. The City is offering a unique opportunity for residents to personalize the benches to memorialize, commemorate, or honor a loved one; a class; an organization; or event. For a fee, a plaque can be added to one of the benches designating the recipient or tribute for which the bench is dedicated. Specific locations on the promenade cannot be guaranteed, but as a whole, the promenade view is breathtaking throughout.

The cost of this tribute will be Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00). Applications will be accepted and assigned on a first come, first served basis. The fee will be payable to the City of Whiting Park Donation Fund. The donation may be tax deductible but individuals should check with their financial consultants or tax advisors. The proceeds will be used for the up keep of the promenade and formal garden areas.

Applications will be available at City Hall and below on the website. Interested parties should submit a completed application form along with the $500.00 fee to the Office of the Clerk-Treasurer, 1443 119th Street, Whiting, IN 46394.
