Party Like A Pirate in Downtown Whiting on Saturday, April 25th
Get your best pirate’s costume on and come on down and enjoy the fun. Grab a treasure map to take you on your journey through Whiting. Along your way you’ll make a pirate hook, paint a pirate picture or maybe even encounter Jack the Pirate.
The infamous Gypsy Rose III Ship will dock right on Oliver St. for all pirates to board and take over the masts, cannons, sword fighting and much more. You will not want to miss this giant ship coming all the way from Missouri.
Make your own pirate ship (decorate a wagon, a box, a bike and ‘drive’ it to the Chamber for the contest). There will be a pirate bouncy house, piratey games, islands of pirate goodies to take photos at, pirate face painting and tattoos, plus so much more. Local eateries will have the best pirate grub to eat and we hear maybe a mug or two of the best pirate glog to drink.
Start growing out your beards now mateys because you won’t want to miss this fun day. 10 am – 3 pm swashbucklers will be in search of the treasure booty – who knows you may even find the perfect key to fit and then all the bountiful goodies inside will be yours for the keepin. Get your pirate costumes ready and watch for more info around town.
