Whiting Police Department is advising everyone that there is a telephone scam going around.  The caller will tell you that a loved one was in an accident and arrested and needs bond money to get out of jail.  They inform you to get gift cards and call them back with the gift card information then they can release them.  If you happen to get a call regarding this or any other scam, PLEASE call 911 to report the scam.
