Veteran’s Day Ceremony 2016

A Veteran’s Day Ceremony will be held in Whiting, Indiana on Friday, November 11, 2016. With continued tradition, the City of Whiting, Whiting High School, Whiting Post 80, Walter Kleiber VFW Post 2724, Al Kowal Am Vets Post 64, and the Whiting Elks Lodge 1273 have worked together to put host a ceremony to honor all of the veterans who served our country.

Everyone is welcome to join us at Post 80 Home, 2003 Indianapolis Blvd. in Whiting, for coffee and donuts starting at 9:30 AM. At 10:50 AM all in attendance will line up to parade to City Hall at approximately 10:55 AM with Post 80 Color Guard leading and musical accompaniment by the Whiting High School Band.

The Veteran’s Day Ceremony will begin at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Site at 119th St. & Oliver Street. Messages will be delivered by the Commanders of the Veteran and Service Organizations, a Salute will be fired, and Taps will be played.

In addition to the ceremony, Legionnaires of Post 80 will honor veterans with a free spaghetti dinner from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. The dinner is free to veterans. Price for Adults is $6 and $3 for children.
