The City of Whiting Fire Department Merit Board will be conducting an examination for the position of Firefighter/EMT/Paramedic for the City of Whiting, Indiana. The examination will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2006. Applications will be available for pickup starting on Monday, October 2, 2006 from Whiting City Hall, 1443 – 119th Street, Whiting, IN. Applications are also available online at www.whitingindiana.com. Applications must be returned no later than 4:30 PM, Friday, October 27, 2006 in person or by mail to Whiting City Hall. Applications will not be accepted after that time. The City of Whiting Fire Department offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and not over 35 years old at the time of application. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen. Applicants must possess, as a condition of employment: High School diploma or equivalent, valid and current Paramedic or EMT License and valid Driver’s License. Additional requirements and information concerning the testing schedule and procedures and qualification requirements will be mailed at a future date prior to the examination.
