Whiting Police Department Warning Residents of Possible Scam
Monday, March 28, 2016
Whiting Police Department is warning residents of possible scam demanding money. A male subject calls claiming to be from the IRS wanting money owed and if not paid, will send a police officer to make an arrest. A second call , from a female dispatcher, with radio traffic in the background, calls stating they are in the process of dispatching an Officer to make the arrest. The caller ID from the female caller shows the Police Department number. This is a scam and if you get a phone call like this please dial 911 for an officer.
